Payfast

You can use Payfast, a super-secure online payment platform known and loved by South Africa, to make payment using multiple payment method options. See below for details.

 

 

Credit / Cheque Card

The most popular online payment method, with no need to fret as 3D Secure is here to stay.

  1. At checkout, when choosing how to pay, select the Payfast option
  2. You will be taken to a secure Payfast portal where you can choose which specific payment method you’d like to use.
  3. During the checkout process, buyers are prompted to enter their credit or cheque card details.
  4. The 3D Secure page will then appear, if the issuing bank identifies the transactions as requiring authentication, then a challenge request will be presented to the buyer where they will need to authenticate themselves with their bank using either a password, one-time PIN (OTP) or via authentication in their banking application. If 3D Secure 2 is in use, then the cardholder won’t need to verify the payment.
  5. Your order will then automatically be marked as paid and an order confirmation will be sent to you.

 

 

Instant EFT

An EFT is the second most popular online payment method in South Africa after credit and cheque cards. It allows you to make an EFT payment, without having to add a recipient to your bank account. Less hassle, less fuss.

  1. At checkout, when choosing how to pay, select the Payfast option.
  2. You will be taken to a secure Payfast portal where you can choose which specific payment method you’d like to use. Choose Instant EFT.
  3. The buyer selects their bank and logs in using their online banking credentials.
  4. Next they choose from which account they will be making the payment.
  5. Buyers then verify the payment with their bank on their mobile device.
  6. Your order will then automatically be marked as paid and an order confirmation will be sent to you.

 

 

QR Code Apps

Contactless QR code payments made through SnapScan, Zapper and banking apps  powered by Ukheshe Scan to Pay (formally Masterpass) have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. These apps securely store payment information and are compatible with all major credit, cheque and debit cards.

  1. At checkout, when choosing how to pay, select the Payfast option.
  2. You will be taken to a secure Payfast portal where you can choose which specific payment method you’d like to use. Choose QR Code Apps.
  3. Select the payment app you wish to use and scan the QR code with the app on your mobile phone. If checking out on your mobile phone, they can complete the payment directly within the app.
  4. The payment is authorised with your bank and once processed, it will instantly mark your order as paid and an order confirmation will be sent to you.

 

 

Mobicred

Mobicred works in a similar fashion to retail store credit: only online. Mobicred charges interest rates comparable to those of credit card providers and only levies monthly fees while the account is used, unlike most credit cards. Pay off your online purchases in monthly installments, but receive your order immediately.

  1. At checkout, when choosing how to pay, select the Payfast option.
  2. You will be taken to a secure Payfast portal where you can choose which specific payment method you’d like to use. Choose Mobicred.
  3. When you first register a Mobicred account, you’ll undergo a simple online process to determine your credit limit.
  4. Mobicred account holders with sufficient available credit can then make payment by selecting Mobicred from the Payfast portal and signing into their account.
  5. Once processed, your order will instantly be marked as paid and an order confirmation will be sent to you.

 

 

Store Cards

Join South Africa’s largest shopping network and have access to over a million potential, new customers who are using their store cards to make purchases.

You can pay with these store cards: RCS Store Card, Game Mystore Card, Makro Credit, Builders Store Credit, Cape Union Mart Group Card, Keedo Store Card, Old Khaki Store Card, Poetry Store Card, Tread+Miller Store Card, VIP Store Card, CTM Store Card, Contempo Store Card and Supa Quick Store Card.

  1. At checkout, when choosing how to pay, select the Payfast option.
  2. You will be taken to a secure Payfast portal where you can choose which specific payment method you’d like to use. Choose Store Card.
  3. You will then be prompted to enter your store card number.
  4. The customer receives an OTP via the mobile number that’s linked to their card and enters it to approve the purchase. 
  5. Once the transaction is processed, your order will instantly be marked as paid and an order confirmation will be sent to you.
